Guides Polignano a Mare

Polignano a Mare, guided walking tours with local guides.

Polignano a Mare is a lovely little town that has been the birthplace of Domenico Modugno (the famous italian singer)! The statue of the famous songwriter begins with our guide, the walk across the bridge of the Via Traiana, which crosses Lama Monachile, then between rich alleys of history and poetry that lead to terraces overlooking the sea, with breathtaking views. The oldest part of the town of Polignano stands on a rocky outcrop overlooking the Adriatic Sea at 33 kilometers south of the capital. The country's economy is mainly based on tourism, agriculture and fishing. The main tourist attractions to visit with our guide in Polignano a Mare are its caves, the most famous: the cave of the “Rondinelle”, the Grottone, the Palazzese cave and Ardito cave , in addition to the lovely old town of the splendid Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta (where is hosted the famous crib Stefano from Putignano) and some amazing ruins of Roman rule. Finally you can visit with our guide various local artisan shops.

Since 2008, Polignano a Mare has always received the Blue Flag. An award given by the Foundation for Environmental Education for European coastal resorts that meet criteria of quality of bathing waters and services offered in the tourism sector.
